Data Deletion Instructions
Last updated: 19 May 2026
You can ask Buvvo Technologies Ltd to delete the personal information we hold about you. This page explains who can request deletion, how to request it, what we remove, and what we may need to keep. It works alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. Who can request deletion
- People who joined our waitlist, subscribed to the newsletter, or submitted a survey or contact form.
- Vendors and team members with a Buvvo account or dashboard access.
- Customers of a store that uses Buvvo: the store (vendor) controls that data and Buvvo processes it on their behalf, so please see section 4.
2. Delete your Buvvo account and vendor data
To delete your account and the personal data associated with it (your profile, business profile, team membership, and related records), send a request as described in section 6. If account self-service deletion is available in your dashboard settings, you can also start it there. We will verify the request against the account email before acting.
3. Delete waitlist, newsletter, or survey data
Email us from, or referencing, the address or phone number you signed up with and ask us to remove your waitlist, newsletter, or survey entry. Newsletter emails also include an unsubscribe link that stops further messages; ask us explicitly if you also want the underlying record deleted.
4. If you are a customer of a Buvvo store
If you chatted with or bought from a business that uses Buvvo, that business is the data controller for your information and decides on deletion. Please contact the store directly. If you contact us, we will forward the request to the relevant vendor and support them in carrying it out as their data processor.
5. WhatsApp messages
Buvvo sends and receives messages through the WhatsApp Business Platform (Meta). Deleting your data from Buvvo removes the conversation and message content we store. Messages held by WhatsApp or on your own device are governed by WhatsApp and Meta and must be managed through their tools.
6. How to send a deletion request
Email hello@buvvo.ng (or support@buvvo.ng) with the subject "Data deletion request" and include:
- The email address used with Buvvo.
- Your business name, and the phone or WhatsApp number used, if applicable.
- What you want deleted (your whole account, or specific data such as a waitlist or newsletter entry).
- Whether the request is for your own data or, if you are a store, for one of your customers.
We will acknowledge your request promptly and complete it within 30 days. We may ask for information to verify your identity before we act, so we do not delete the wrong person's data.
7. What we delete and what we keep
We delete or irreversibly anonymize the personal data tied to your request. Records are typically marked deleted first and then removed, and copies in routine encrypted backups age out on their normal rotation. Security and audit logs are purged on a recurring schedule (retained for at least 30 days).
We may retain limited information where the law requires it or for legitimate business needs, for example transaction and payment records needed for accounting, tax, and fraud-prevention obligations, and records needed to resolve disputes or enforce our agreements. Retained data is kept only as long as necessary and then deleted.
8. Your rights
Deletion is one of the rights available to you under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation. You may also access or correct your data, object to or restrict certain processing, and lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. See our Privacy Policy for details.
